In this webinar, Dr. Tommy Bornman (South African Environmental Observation Network - SAEON), André Hoek (Sea Technology Services - STS), and Jasmine Eggleton (Sofar) detail how SAEON & STS deploy [Spotter Platforms](/content/products/spotter/index.html) along South Africa’s coast to collect real-time surface and subsurface data to better detect, understand, and predict environmental change.

**Agenda:**

- Deploy Spotters at scale in key locations along South Africa’s rugged coastline to make real-time observations of waves, subsurface temperature, dissolved oxygen, and other key variables.
- Leverage the [Bristlemouth](https://www.bristlemouth.org/) open connectivity standard to integrate Spotter with custom thermistor strings to profile the thermocline in real time.
- Combine real-time Spotter data with observations from other platforms to rapidly expand coastal monitoring efforts and climate resilience across South Africa.
