## About This Sound  
This recording captures the passage of a motorized vessel in open water from a stationary underwater position. The vessel is first heard from far away as a faint mechanical hum, which steadily grows louder and more distinct as it approaches. The engine and propeller sounds increase in intensity until they reach their peak when the vessel passes directly overhead. As the ship continues its journey, the sounds gradually diminish, becoming fainter and less distinct until they eventually fade away into the distance.
